8th Episcopal District Department of Christian Education and Formation
The purpose of Christian Education and Formation is to equip individuals to live as Christian disciples and complete the work of “discipling,” a continuous lifestyle of Christian discipline and disciple-making. Through Christian education and formation, individuals are invited to know and experience God through Jesus, claim and live God’s promises, and grow and serve as disciples of Jesus Christ.

What comprises the Regional Board of Christian Education and Formation?
The Regional Board of Christian Education and Formation consists of the appointed Region Director, District Directors, Regional and District Conference Presidents of Youth and Young Adult ministries, a representative of Regional Board of Stewardesses, Regional Lay Ministry President and his or her representative, at least two representatives from the clergy, and any other persons appointed by the Bishop. The Bishop and Presiding Elders are ex-officio members of the Board. (Par.1131, CME Book of Discipline)
